I am happy to report that after a long hiatus FlipSide is back and better than ever. The band has been reorganized with April remaining on lead vocals and Neil on keyboards and vocals. Mike returns as our outstanding lead guitarist and vocalist. We are happy to announce our newest members: Charlie on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, David on drums and percussion, and Nick on bass and vocals. Check our calendar for upcoming events, and we hope to see our friends at upcoming gigs.

We are saddened by the passing of one of the founders of the Back To Back Band, the predecessor of FlipSide. Bongo Bob was a genuinely warm human being who would greet people with a hug rather than a handshake. Even at the end of a long illness you could still feel the warmth in his smile. April, Brent, Neil, Lynn, Jeff, and Steve had the good fortune to know and work with him until his illness took him out of the band. He will be missed, but his spirit will continue on with us.

Hi, everyone. It's been a while since the last update, so time to bring you up to speed. We just played a "holiday" party in a hangar at Gillespie Field, a really cool venue all decked out for Halloween. Our next gig is actually on Halloween. We're playing at AJ's Cave, 10920 Roselle St. in Sorrento Valley. This is open to the public, and there's no cover charge. Proceeds from this event benefit the Primate Rescue Network, so come out and support your favorite primate! We might even play a Monkey tune. Check out SavingWildThings.org, and we hope to see you this coming Friday.

Looks like FlipSide is going to be busy! Starting with the Kearny Mesa Moose Lodge, one of our favorite venues, we will next be appearing at a new venue, Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens and Nursery in Fallbrook. The following week finds us back at Que Pasa, now featuring music on Saturday nights. Check the calendar for details. At the end of August we will be playing a private block party, which was a lot of fun last year. Looking forward to seeing all of our friends.

As you can see from our calender entry the band will be "on tour" March 1. We will be heading north to San Francisco to play for the American Glaucoma Society Gala banquet. We have perfromed for them before in Dana Point at the Monarch Resort a couple of years ago and it was a BLAST! If you are in SF on the 1st you could probably drop by after 10 and catch the second set, don't forget yuor dancing shoes. Also, you can hang out with the band after the gig!

We are saddened by the departure of Heath as our lead guitarist for the past year. Family matters including the impending birth of a daughter have curtailed his musical career, hopefully only temporarily. We wll miss him as he brought a great deal to the band. We are fortunate to have his replacement already in place. Mike, the guitarist from our jazz offshoot band (The Flip Side of FlipSide) has assumed the role of lead guitarist for all of our endeavors. He is a superb player of jazz, blues, and rock, and sings as well. Welcome, Mike.
